Choose a custom lithium ion battery pack for your golf cart -Don’t compromise on your game
Most golfers are busy corporate executives who long for that one stress busting game of golf once a week. At a time when you are all set for your game, the battery giving up on you, refusing to accelerate or slowing down on an uphill climb can be exasperating to say the least. It would be no exaggeration to therefore state that for an optimal golfing experience, a golf cart powered with a super golf cart battery is an imperative.
As any golfing expert will tell you, if there is any battery that fits the bill, it must be the latest 36V Lithium golf cart battery or the 48v 20ah lithium-ion battery that has a clear advantage over any lead acid battery. Some traditionalists would perhaps say that the price factor of lead acid batteries still make them a better choice over the lithium-ion counterparts. But if you look closely, that argument does not hold true. Let us tell you why.
Lesser charging time
To maintain good speed across any golf terrain, your golf cart needs to maintain consistent power. As you may have experienced with lead acid batteries, golf carts begin to slow down as the power depletes. To charge it to the maximum, you will need at least 8 to 10 hours. But with a lithium-ion battery, there is no such problem. Even when the charge begins to deplete, it will not impact the speed or performance of your cart. Besides, to bring it back to 100% charge you need a maximum of 2 to 3 hours. If you are in a particular rush, your cart can be charged up to a good 80% in merely one hour!
The life of the battery
An average lead acid battery lasts up to 500 to 1000 cycles. A lithium-ion battery on the other hand lasts significantly longer up to 2000 cycles. This is because the latest lithium-ion batteries come powered with a battery management system (BMS) that ensures that it is functioning to its optimum capacity.
No maintenance
One of the major things, a golf cart owner always must be cautious about with lead acid batteries is chemical spills and acid leaks. These can not only damage your vehicle but can be extremely dangerous and a health hazard too. There is no such trouble of maintenance with lithium-ion batteries because they remain completely sealed. All you have to do is charge it, and it is ready for a spin.
Thus, when you opt for a lithium-ion battery in lieu of a lead acid battery, you save on energy cost, maintenance costs and potential costs of repairs. Further, with brand new lithium-ion batteries in golf carts, easily lasting a decade or so, you save on replacement costs as well. So, for those arguing on the price factor of lithium-ion batteries, you wouldn’t be off the mark if you claim that over the long-term a lithium ion golf cart battery proves to be greater value for money as compared to its lead acid counterpart.
